Feeder Cattle Weekly Summary Report for the week of 05/14/2018

Receipts This Week:  10,848     Last Week:  9,405     Last Year:  9,266

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers 1.00-5.00 lower.  Feeder heifers 
3.00-6.00 lower.  Steer and heifer calves mostly 2.00-3.00 lower on limited 
comparable weight ranges. Demand moderate.  Quality average, few attractive.  
CME cattle futures closed sharply lower Monday along with a weaker cash 
cattle trade on Friday.  Feeder cattle supply included 52 percent Steers, 46 
percent Heifers, and 2 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 
80 percent.
   Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher.  Slaughter bulls 3.00 higher.  
Packer demand moderate.  A total of 468 cows and bulls sold with 52 percent 
going to packers.
